How can I register my child for a program or camp?
Registration varies between programs. Mostly, registration will take place directly through our website. Some schools prefer to manage registration through their school or school district. Some community organizations also prefer direct registration through their websites. Details for registration for each of our programs and camps are available on our website and social media.
How does Journey to STEAM ensure my child’s safety?
Your child’s safety is at the heart of everything we do. We follow rigorous safety protocols and hire only the most qualified instructors—less than 10% of applicants make it through our selective process. Every instructor passes a comprehensive background check and receives ongoing coaching and support to create a secure, encouraging environment where kids can thrive. Our team is trained not just to teach, but to care deeply and lead with integrity.
What age groups do your programs cater to?
Our programs are designed for elementary and middle-school students (grades K-8). However, we can adapt our offerings for different age groups based on your organization’s requirements.
Where are your programs and camps located?
Our programs are conveniently hosted at elementary schools across Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington counties in Oregon, as well as in Clark County, Washington. Our camps are located in elementary and middle schools and community centers.
How long do the programs and camps run, and how often do they meet?
Our programs consist of 8 sessions, meeting once a week. The duration of each session is 1 hour. Camp sessions are 3-4 hours, and meet for one week.
Do you offer scholarships?
Yes! We offer limited scholarships to help ensure all children can participate in our programs. As a small business, we’re committed to serving our community, which is why we provide these scholarships based on eligibility and program availability. Please note that we do not offer full scholarships, and scholarships are honored as they are available. They are not guaranteed for every program. To inquire, please contact us directly by emailing getintouch@journeytosteam.com.
What if a class is canceled due to weather?
We do not reschedule or offer make-up days for inclement weather. This approach keeps our programs running smoothly and ensures our resources are focused on delivering exceptional experiences, not managing unpredictable variables. Families appreciate this clarity, and it helps us keep quality high for everyone.
Do you offer prorated rates for late registration or missed classes?
No. To ensure fairness and program consistency, all Journey to STEAM programs are a flat rate. We do not prorate for late registration, missed classes, or school closures, including weather-related disruptions. This policy allows us to deliver the highest quality experience to every student, every time.
